The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes will host the Wilmington University and Dover Air Force Base Career Summit on Tuesday, July 14, at Wilmington University’s Dover location at 3282 N. Dupont Hwy.

The summit will bring together employers, service members, military spouses, and veterans for a program focused on career connections, professional development, and hiring opportunities.

“Hiring veterans and military spouses is an opportunity for the American business community to tap into highly skilled, solid talent; and a way for organizations to benefit from a resilient and versatile workforce,” says Hiring Our Heroes Events and Engagement Director Crystal Bryant-Kearns. “The skill sets that the military community bring to the table are second to none – they are highly sought-after talent.”

“Many members of the military community balance education, work, family and service, and we are mindful of the responsibilities they carry,” says Wilmington University Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students Dr. Regina Allen-Sharpe. “We are pleased to help create a space where they can connect with employers, explore opportunities, and feel supported in their next steps.”

Wilmington University supports military-affiliated students through flexible pathways, career-focused programs, and student services designed for students balancing school, work, family, and service. With Hiring Our Heroes leading a national effort to help military-connected job seekers find meaningful employment, the summit extends that support by offering direct access to employers and professional networks.
