Supporting an Intelligent Approach to AI
Wilmington University is helping ensure safe and responsible guidelines for artificial intelligence. Darryl Santry, chair of the M.S. in Cybersecurity and M.S. in Information Systems Technologies programs in the College of Business and Technology (COBT), serves on the Delaware AI Commission, which is tasked with evaluating, guiding and regulating the use of AI in the private and government sectors in the First State.
In addition to identifying high-risk implementations of AI, the commission is responsible for making recommendations to the state Assembly and the Delaware Department of Technology and Information.
Further, COBT is enhancing student access to AI credentials that are in high demand in the workforce. Under the direction of Dr. Mark Meara, director of the Division of Information Technology, Analytics, Cybersecurity, and Financial Technologies, WilmU is integrating the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy Generative AI Foundations course into IST 8105, an intensive capstone course in WilmU’s Master of Science in Information Systems Technology program.
