WilmU COO/Senior Vice President Honored by Associazione Regionale Abruzzese Delco and the Delaware Valley

On Sunday, April 28, 2024, Wilmington University Senior Vice President/COO Dr. Erin DiMarco was presented with the Associazione Regionale Abruzzese Delco’s Person-of-the-Year Award. The honor is given to individuals who contribute significantly to the community while fostering the Italian language, heritage, customs, and culture. The event also celebrated honor students who excelled in Italian Language studies, while proceeds benefitted Saint Gabriel Church in Abruzzo, Italy, and other organizations.

During her remarks, Dr. DiMarco thanked Wilmington University President Dr. LaVerne Harmon for her support, emphasizing the alignment of values between the University and the Italian American organization rooted in integrity, respect, and compassion. She also shared updates on the University’s progress, highlighting the construction of a Convocation Center and a law building.

Dr. DiMarco expressed heartfelt gratitude to ARA Delco President Nick Rapagnani and organizational members for their leadership, empathy, and guidance during COVID-19. Their compassionate efforts, including scholarships for Wilmington University students, have impacted many lives.

“Associazione Regionale Abruzzese Delco works tirelessly to invite diverse people to share an appreciation of Italian heritage through activities and goals by fostering a genuine sense of camaraderie,” says Dr. DiMarco. “I was humbled to be recognized by an organization that cares deeply for its members and the community and contributes so significantly to society.”
