ALL are Welcome at WilmU

Wilmington University provides a welcoming and seamless experience for international students, with 200+ affordable degree and certificate programs, convenient locations, and a variety of helpful resources.

Here are 5 ways you are welcome at WilmU.

  1. Friendly “family” community
We are happy to serve a diverse population and we believe that our international students bring proud traditions and cultural experiences that generate ideas and promote better understanding in our world.
  2. Dedicated faculty and staff
International students are a respected part of our student body who bring highly-valued global perspectives and experiences to WilmU. We pride ourselves on our dedicated faculty and staff, who embrace an atmosphere of mutual respect regardless of age, race, interest, background, and aspirations. In fact, the diversity of our student body is what brings our classrooms to life.
  3. Academics
WilmU’s degree and certificate programs are designed to teach skills relevant to the demands of today’s global marketplace, such as the several F-1 STEM- eligible degree programs we offer. Certain F-1 students who receive science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degrees, as designated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, may apply for a 24-month extension of their post-completion optional practical training (OPT).
  4. Opportunities
WilmU offers a wide variety of opportunities for international students to get involved in the Wildcat community. The Multicultural Student Association offers support and guidance to our international members, and they actively participate in functions on and off campus. Plus, our incredible WilmU Athletics sports teams bring student athletes together from all over the world.
  5. Convenient Location
We are conveniently located between Philadelphia, New York City, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C., which are major cities on or near the East Coast. Our centralized location provides options for students who may need to live in, or travel to, one of these cities. We also partner with Places4Students, a company that specializes in providing off-campus housing solutions, where students can look for a roommate and find area housing options.

It’s in our values. We are committed to being a University where UNDERSTANDING and RESPECT for each other is paramount, INTEGRITY guides all of our choices, providing educational OPPORTUNITY is our primary purpose, and RESPONSIVENESS to diverse community needs is key.
