Leaders are also people whom other people want to follow. Having a leadership title does not automatically make someone a leader.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She adheres to the tenets of servant leadership, knowing when to serve, when to lead, and, she said, \u201cwhen to do both at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leaders strive for excellence, she added. \u201cNo one is perfect, so it is unrealistic to think that every leader will achieve perfection in every endeavor. However, I do believe in the saying, \u2018Always shoot for the moon because if you miss, you will still be among the stars.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cI do believe in the saying, \u2018Always shoot for the moon because if you miss, you will still be among the stars.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n<cite><em>\u2014 Dr. Adrienne Bey<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>According to its website, DAWN is committed to the advancement of women leaders in higher education. \u201cFor more than 25 years, DAWN has provided information and counsel to constituencies within the higher education community regarding policies, issues, education, and research that influence women\u2019s equity, diversity, and advancement. DAWN provides national leadership in advancing women to executive positions on campus and serves as a national voice for women in higher education.
