She recently earned certification as a mediator through the Delaware Superior Court and Delaware Bar Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alumna Krista Fowler, a single mother, studied Marketing online while she continued to work. In addition, she had the opportunity to learn other skills that would help her succeed.<\/p>\n\n\n<style>.kb-image2796_66e7bc-9e .kb-image-has-overlay:after{opacity:0.3;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-image kb-image2796_66e7bc-9e\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.test.wilmu.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/COEL_kristafowler-300x169-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"kb-img wp-image-14427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.wilmu.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/COEL_kristafowler-300x169-1.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.wilmu.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/COEL_kristafowler-300x169-1-250x141.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption><em>Krista Fowler<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI participated in WilmU\u2019s Toastmasters Club meetings, where I actively improved my leadership and public speaking skills,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her co-op experience as a Marketing and Communications intern with the Urban Bike Project of Wilmington ignited a desire to work in sectors devoted to helping others. She is now marketing coordinator for Partners in Health and Wellbeing, a psychotherapy practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The awards will be presented at the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Region Conference in New Brunswick, New Jersey, on&nbsp;Oct. 4-6. Winners are selected by the University Professional and Continuing Education Association, a national association for professional, continuing and online education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The College of Online and Experiential Learning (COEL) offers online learning, experiential learning, and assessment of prior learning to provide additional pathways for degree completion.
