The studio offers an easy-to-use camera, microphone and lighting system, all available at no charge.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on a model at Penn State, the studio reimagines existing infrastructure in libraries, says&nbsp;Russ Lichterman, multimedia manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLibraries are starting to morph from a place where you borrow books to being a technology center,\u201d he says. \u201cIt gives students who don\u2019t have a webcam&nbsp;or other multimedia technology&nbsp;an opportunity to walk in and use a device that doesn\u2019t cost them any money.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The studio also is home to&nbsp;OLET Live! The real-time show, aired on the Online Learning and Educational Technology Facebook&nbsp;group&nbsp;page, airs at lunchtime so adjuncts can tune in and interact with members of the OLET team. Hosts Stephen Scheib, an instructional designer, and Christian Broderick, an educational technologist, bring in guests and discuss a variety of topics of interest to WilmU faculty.&nbsp;&nbsp;(To watch the show, request access to the group by searching \u201cwilmington university online learning and educational technology\u201d on Facebook.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Launched as a low-cost pilot, the multimedia center was rolled out in Spring 2017. Based on that success, WilmU&nbsp;hopes to&nbsp;add two more centers, first on the Dover campus, followed by a site at the New Castle campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Wilson, users can book time online in blocks of one or two hours,&nbsp;10 a.m.-7 p.m.,&nbsp;Monday-Friday, and&nbsp;10 a.m.-3 p.m.&nbsp;on Saturday. There\u2019s an interactive calendar on library website, which also includes detailed instructions walking users through the recording process.
