Dr. Thomas serves as adjunct faculty at&nbsp;Wilmington University\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilmu.edu\/health\/indexh.aspx\">College of Nursing and Health Sciences<\/a>, where she helps prepare the next generation of nurse practitioners. She is a military veteran, having served more than two decades in the U.S. Air Force and retiring with the rank of major.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award highlights individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing patient-centered care and strengthening the profession through practice, education, research and leadership. Nurse practitioners provide comprehensive primary care services across the lifespan, with a focus on preventive care, chronic disease management and patient education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Colleagues describe her work as grounded in clinical expertise and a commitment to community health.
