Blood<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The Summer 2019 Online Student of the Block is Matt Blood, a champion of older adults, who earned his MS in Administration of Human Services at WilmU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt puts a face to online learning, touting students\u2019 accomplishments and sharing a little about their lives,\u201d says Dr. Matthew Davis, senior director of Online Learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the rollout of Canvas, WilmU\u2019s learning management system, activity has increased via the online student association, whose features include monthly discussions in which students are invited to give feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignwide wu-blockquote-row is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-ad2f72ca wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote wu-blockquote-simple is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe real core is to connect online students, who are a part of our community even though they don\u2019t set foot on campus,\u201d Dr. Davis says. \u201cCanvas is a lot more user friendly, especially for mobile phone users.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Blood, who lives in Seattle, is an investigator for the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, exploitation and abandonment of vulnerable adults.
