In his presentation, Graefe explained the benefits of password managers that keep users safer at home and work. He also introduced attendees to LastPass, a password management tool that offers ease-of-use and low cost, starting with a free version. Another topic of interest was backup practices to protect against ransomware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second event, in January, was live streamed to reach the broader WilmU community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.test.wilmu.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/petter-lagson-fk7RyOS7ZfI-unsplash-768x512-1-720x480.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.wilmu.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/petter-lagson-fk7RyOS7ZfI-unsplash-768x512-1-720x480.jpg 720w, https:\/\/blog.wilmu.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/petter-lagson-fk7RyOS7ZfI-unsplash-768x512-1-250x167.jpg 250w, https:\/\/blog.wilmu.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/petter-lagson-fk7RyOS7ZfI-unsplash-768x512-1.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCOT has been working with IT and HR to help increase information security awareness among faculty and staff,\u201d says Mark Hufe, director of Cyber Security Education and chair of Computer and Network Security. \u201cThe lunch-and-learns focus on cyber-safe best practices at home. If people follow best practices at home, they are more likely to also do so in the workplace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Human Resource\u2019s Karen Sheats and Jennifer Workman expressed interest in conducting encore presentations and another workshop&nbsp; is in the planning phase.
