WilmU’s Annual Green & White Scholarship Gala Supports Student Success

Scholarships change lives. Just ask Jude Jones, a Wilmington University student who calls education a “lifeline.”
“Receiving a scholarship did not just lighten my financial burden,” Jones says. “It gave me the freedom to spend more time with my family, to engage more deeply with my studies, and to move closer to the future I envision for myself and my community.”
At WilmU’s recent Green & White Scholarship Gala, she thanked donors, telling them their “generosity is more than a gift — it is a vote of confidence.”

“The Green & White Scholarship Gala was an inspiring celebration of the Wilmington University community coming together to support student success,” says Felicia Quinn, director of alumni relations and development. “The energy throughout the evening was incredible, with our guests, sponsors, volunteers and vendors all contributing to an atmosphere of joy, pride and generosity.”
More than 350 people dined, danced and donated, enjoying a silent auction and themed party rooms, made possible by over 60 sponsors and food and beverage vendors.
“The generosity shown throughout the night — from spirited bidding during the silent auction to the enthusiasm of our attendees — created a true sense of community and purpose,” Quinn says, calling the evening “a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we unite around WilmU’s mission.”
Scholarship recipient Jonathan Taylor agrees, crediting contributors for believing in him.
“It’s not just financial help — it’s hope,” he says. “It’s stability. It’s the chance to keep going when life says, ‘You can’t.’”
