As the saying goes, “There’s no such thing as a silly question,” so don’t hesitate to ask Wilmington University’s recruiting team anything from “How do I apply?” to “What credits will transfer?”

“Recruiters are often the first point of contact for prospective students, meeting them at partner events, high schools, conferences and campus gatherings,” says Melissa Palese, WilmU’s director of student recruiting. “They’re ready to answer questions about becoming a WilmU student, finding the right program and navigating the application process.”

Higher Education Recruitment

Curious about employer tuition benefits, financial aid or student life? Connect with WilmU’s academic recruiters by phone, text or email to schedule an in-person or online meeting.

“While our recruiters are generalists who can answer questions about most programs, each recruiter is assigned to represent specific colleges,” says Palese, a WilmU graduate. “This structure allows them to work closely with program chairs and provide detailed, specialized information when students need it.”

She describes her team as “a caring, approachable group of professionals who bring enthusiasm to their work and genuinely enjoy connecting with prospective students.” They stay informed about “industry trends for working adults and program updates to provide the most relevant guidance for each student’s unique situation.”

Supportive, Responsive Recruiters

Jamar McCray became a WilmU academic recruiter in 2019. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University.

“I want people to know that WilmU is dedicated to providing accessible, flexible and affordable education that truly fits into students’ lives,” McCray says. “We meet students where they are and support them every step of the way.”

Patrick Pastor, a recruiting events specialist, joined Wilmington University in 2016. He helps coordinate Open Houses, online events, information sessions and high school visits.

“Regardless of where you are in your journey, we can help answer questions and even help you complete the application for admission,” Pastor says. “We understand that sometimes this process can be overwhelming. We aim to make this as stress-free as possible. We are here to help you achieve your goals!”
