Wilmington University Once Again Honored for Transfer Student Success

Ready to complete your degree? Wilmington University is one of America’s most transfer-friendly colleges, earning a spot on the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) Transfer Honor Roll for the fifth year in a row.
One of only 251 colleges and universities to qualify for the 2025 distinction, WilmU supports transfer students with our open admissions policy, affordable tuition, accessible recruiters and active student life.
“I’m proud of the transfer outcomes we’re seeing at these Honor Roll colleges,” says Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, president and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa. “These colleges are doing more than just opening doors — they’re walking students through them. Their commitment to creating clear, supportive pathways demonstrates what’s possible when student success is truly the priority.”
Transfer College Credits
At Wilmington University, you can save time and tuition by transferring up to 90 undergraduate credits or 12 graduate credits. Approximately 70% of WilmU undergrads transfer credits from other schools, and 85% of students who transfer an associate degree to WilmU complete their bachelor’s degree.
Wilmington University also helps you leverage your existing knowledge by awarding academic credit for prior learning and experience, including college-level coursework, certifications, training, licenses, military service, co-ops, internships and standardized tests.
Your Path to Degree Completion
Another transfer-friendly feature is our open admissions policy, which means admission is guaranteed to most WilmU programs. Choose from more than 200 degree and certificate programs — available online, in person or a combination of both — and customize your coursework through minors, concentrations, certificates and experiential learning options.
Plus, WilmU PTK graduates can join the society’s first and only Delaware alumni chapter.
“Transfer students who were involved in Phi Theta Kappa at their first school have the opportunity to join WilmU’s chapter,” says Dr. Taylor McCusker, director of Student Life at Wilmington University. “This allows them to continue to tap into the many benefits of Phi Theta Kappa membership, such as professional development and scholarships.”
With classes beginning every eight weeks, accelerated degree completion options, affordable tuition, flexible scheduling, scholarships, tutoring and technology support, you can finish your degree on time and on budget at Wilmington University.
