Q: What challenge or goal made you decide that earning an MBA was your next best step?
While exploring career opportunities, I noticed that individuals with an MBA often enjoy higher earning potential and expanded networking opportunities. I knew that pursuing this degree would strengthen my professional prospects and position me for long-term success.
Q: What stood out to you about WilmU’s MBA program?
The affordability of Wilmington University’s MBA program immediately stood out to me. After reviewing the costs and program timeline, I realized I could complete my MBA in just one year and graduate debt-free. As someone financing my own education, that was an incredible advantage.
Q: Were affordable tuition and credit for prior coursework important factors in your decision?
Absolutely. One of my top goals was to complete my MBA without taking on student loan debt. The program’s flexibility allowed me to work part-time for the University while also being a full-time student-athlete. For working professionals, this level of adaptability makes higher education accessible.
Q: What concentration did you choose, and why?
I chose to pursue my MBA in Nonprofit Management because of the connection I have to my community. During my undergraduate studies, several projects focused on local organizations making a positive impact. Through family friends, I became familiar with Gallant Heart and Cornerstone Women’s Resource Centers of Salem, New Jersey, and saw firsthand how their work transformed lives. My goal is to make a similar impact — whether by volunteering, serving on a board of directors, or starting my own nonprofit.
If you are considering WilmU’s MBA program, take that next step! The University offers unmatched opportunities to learn, grow and explore new possibilities.

Q: Can you share a course, project, or interaction with faculty or classmates that really stuck with you?
The interactions I had with my adjunct professors were truly memorable. Online learning can sometimes feel impersonal, but my experience at WilmU was the opposite. Professors Jamee Boone, Bruce Martin and Linda Carney provided insightful feedback, challenged me to think creatively, and encouraged me to develop strategies for a constantly evolving business environment. Their dedication to student success, both during and beyond my time at WilmU, was heartwarming.
Q: Can you share a specific moment when you realized the MBA had expanded your leadership, strategy, or decision-making skills?
My MBA program consistently encouraged forward-thinking and strategic leadership. In my Nonprofit Sustainability course (NPM 7330), I collaborated with an incredible group of women actively working in nonprofits throughout Delaware. Although I had less experience than some of my classmates, they valued my perspective and encouraged my ideas. Their mentorship not only built my confidence but also reinforced my passion for making a difference in the nonprofit sector.
Q: What advice would you give to someone who’s on the fence about starting their MBA?
If you are considering WilmU’s MBA program, take that next step! The University offers unmatched opportunities to learn, grow and explore new possibilities. I was able to earn my degree debt-free while working part time and living independently. The faculty and staff are invested in helping motivated students succeed in both their education and careers. My five years at WilmU have been some of the most rewarding.
Q: If you could sum up your WilmU MBA experience in three words, what would they be?
Affordable. Personal. Opportunity.
Q: What do you love about Wilmington University?
I love WilmU’s close-knit community. As both a student-athlete and later an employee, I experienced the best of the University’s online and in-person environments. Even in a virtual setting, professors remembered me from past courses and projects, creating a strong sense of connection. On campus, I met people from diverse backgrounds, including friends from Sweden and South Africa, through my involvement in athletics and a Bible study group. These relationships truly blessed my time at WilmU.
