Dr. Jacqui Mainwaring

Dr. Jacqui Mainwaring, director of the Delaware Nurse Anesthesiologist Program at Wilmington University, has achieved two of the profession’s highest honors. She was inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (FAANA) and elected president of the Delaware Board of Nursing.

FAANA represents the pinnacle of achievement in nurse anesthesiology. The designation of fellow is reserved for a select group of leaders who have demonstrated sustained excellence in clinical practice, education, research, and advocacy. Fewer than 100 nurse anesthesiologists nationwide currently hold this distinction. Fellows are recognized not only for their individual contributions but also for advancing the visibility and impact of the profession.

Through these dual honors, Dr. Mainwaring joins an elite cadre of national leaders while also taking on a vital role in guiding nursing policy and practice in Delaware.

“Dr. Mainwaring’s induction as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology reflects her exceptional and enduring contributions to clinical practice, education, and professional advocacy in nurse anesthesiology,” says Dr. Aaron Sebach, dean of the College of Health Professions and Natural Sciences. “Moreover, her election as president of the Delaware Board of Nursing is a powerful affirmation of her leadership and dedication to shaping the future of nursing across the First State.”
