Wilmington University Launches AWS Academy Program and Speaker Series

Expanding Access to Cloud Skills and Careers for Students and Communities
Wilmington University, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), is proudly launching its participation in AWS Academy to advance the shared mission of providing students and community members with equitable access to the cloud computing skills needed to succeed in today’s digital economy.
Beginning in September 2025, Wilmington University students will have the opportunity to enroll in courses that build in-demand cloud skills aligned with industry-recognized AWS certifications. The curriculum is designed to prepare learners to address real-world business challenges and pursue high-quality careers in one of the fastest-growing fields.
Program Launch and Speaker Series
To celebrate this launch, Wilmington University is hosting the very first event in its new Quarterly Speaker Series. It’s an open invitation for students, educators, and community members alike to hear directly from industry leaders — people who are shaping where technology is headed and how it can open doors for everyone. This isn’t just about cloud computing — it’s about learning how digital skills create real opportunities and bring more equity into our communities.
The session “Cloud for All: Expanding Access to AWS Learning,” takes place Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 6 p.m. (virtual). Featuring Chris Ott, Head of AWS Academy, the session will explore how AWS is driving community impact and expanding equity in cloud education. Register at www.wilmu.edu/continuinged/aws
