WilmU’s Innovative Computer Science Club

Passionate about computer science and looking for like-minded students? Join the club. Literally.
Wilmington University’s new Computer Science Club provides an inclusive and nurturing community where students can collaborate, innovate, and grow as they explore cutting-edge technologies.
Assistant Chair of Computer Science Jodie Vallone notes that the group attracted immediate attention from students, with nearly 40 members signing up, and that number continues to grow. The WilmU club is part of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) network, which offers numerous benefits to students. ACM is the world’s largest educational organization for computer science, with 680 student chapters in the U.S. and internationally.
Clubs offer such activities as mock job interviews, resume tips, and meetings with alumni who have experience in the field. Students who become officers can develop organizational leadership skills. Benefits also include discounts and scholarships to ACM conferences, as well as access to activities at WilmU and other local schools.
