Webinar Series Highlights Transformative Technology

There is a way to keep up with the latest technologies. The College of Technology is debuting a monthly webinar series with the theme “Transformative Technology: The Good, The Bad, and the Unknown.”

Dr. Anthony J. Carcillo, dean of the COT, says the series provides an opportunity for faculty, alumni, students and professionals to share their knowledge of transformative technologies, which are rapidly impacting life and work.

“Transformative Technology such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Social Media, has the potential to change things such as how we work, how we learn, and how we interact with one another,” he says.

The first webinar will be presented by Dr. James Fraley, director of Cybersecurity Education, who will take a deep dive into Cybersecurity and ChatGPT, an AI-powered language model.

At the COT, Dr. Carcillo, Dr. Tim Day, director of Digital Media, Communications and Computer Science, and Maria Bannon, assistant to the dean, have been working with the Multimedia team, marketing specialists and the Online Learning and Educational Technology Team to create a Zoom environment and promote the series. “Transformative Technology” starts in September will run through May 2024.
