Certificate Explores the Inside Story on Social Media

The impact of social media extends far beyond tweeting and making Instagram posts. Managing social media is a valuable skill that helps organizations to build their brands and deliver their message. Career opportunities in digital marketing are growing 30 percent faster than other marketing positions, according to a recent CNN survey.

Wilmington University’s five-course, 15-credit undergraduate Certificate in Social Media Management can be earned as a stand-alone credential or toward a bachelor’s degree in Communications. Offered by the College of Technology, it’s presented in both traditional classroom and online formats.

Students benefit from learning from instructors who have real-world, hands-on experience in technology and business who will provide insights on strategies and protocols for interacting with the public through posting content, fielding criticism, and responding to feedback. That includes knowledge into the technology behind social media, including the latest media and distribution software. Students will gain a competitive edge in internet marketing, consumer behavior, and data analytics, tools that are the backbone of social media messaging and strategy.
