Online Student Association Marks 10 Years of Progress

For a decade, students learning remotely have been interacting with one another and participating in Wilmington University activities through the Online Student Association (OSA), created to provide online students with an opportunity to experience WilmU’s collaborative culture.

OSA operated initially via the Blackboard Learning Management System and has evolved from a peer-to-peer resource to a robust destination that makes life more convenient for students.

Now hosted in the Canvas Learning Management System, OSA continues to provide student discussion forums. Led by online student navigators Kelly Clayton and Dr. Lauren Havens, OSA now serves more than 11,000 students. Features include information on student life and careers, designated academic college discussion groups, and connections to virtual events. OSA is practical, too, with tutorials and resources for online learning and an option to request a student ID.

This brief video provides an overview of today’s OSA.  Learn more about the OSA or connect with online student navigators.
