CarolDr. Birnbohm leads a district of four high schools and one alternative program, with 6,800 students and 1,100 staff. In 2017-2018, the National School Public Relations Association selected her as a “superintendent to watch,” one of only 21 educators in the United States to receive the honor.

She also is the recipient of the Audrey K. Doberstein Award for Leadership “for outstanding leadership and dedication to the philosophy and mission of Wilmington University.” She earned her Doctor of Education in Innovation and Leadership from WilmU in 2010.
