WilmU on the Frontline of Thought in Education

The annual meeting of the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE) is the nation’s largest and most prestigious conference for institutions of higher education offering education degrees.

Representing Wilmington University were Dr. Rob Rescigno, Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Dr. John Gray, Dean of the College of Education, who were among several thousand educators intent on keeping their finger on the pulse of the latest trends and thoughts on training the educators of tomorrow.

The premier conference, held in February in Louisville, Kentucky, featured hundreds of workshops and roundtables, as well as major presentations from prominent thinkers, leaders and researchers who shared insights on successful programs and best practices. The 71st annual event also was an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and learn more about scholarly papers on preparing teachers for careers, including teaching abroad.

“We came away with some intriguing new ideas for making our education programs even better,” Dr. Rescigno says, noting that insights gleaned from the conference already are part of the conversation in enhancing offerings at WilmU.
