‘Y’ It Matters

YWCADr. Eileen Donnelly, assistant vice president of technology and dean of the College of Online and Experiential Learning, is president of the YWCA Delaware’s board of directors.

“The board plays a significant role in the overall leadership and operation of the YWCA,” says Donnelly, adding that she participated in the national search for the nonprofit’s CEO and is involved in strategic planning processes.

Wilmington University, a generous contributor to the YWCA, has sponsored its annual fundraising breakfasts for the past four years by awarding a full scholarship to a YWCA client at each breakfast. Several WilmU staffers also have volunteered time and money, and have served on scholarship committees.

“It truly is a great example of the WilmU community helping the YWCA community,” says Donnelly. “I feel very fortunate to volunteer for an organization that changes lives by living its mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.”
