Dr. Adrienne Bey, chair of the Administration of Human Services (AHS) graduate program, has been elected to a four-year term as treasurer for the Council for Standards in Human Service Education (CSHSE), the membership and accrediting body for academic programs in human services.

She previously served as the Mid-Atlantic regional director for the Council.

“Serving has been an enriching experience for me personally and puts me on the forefront of trends in human services education,” says Dr. Bey. “My new role on the national level is an opportunity to work with human services professionals from across the country who work in various university settings.”

That includes an opportunity to learn more about how students in programs for associate’s and bachelor’s degrees are educated to prepare them for graduate school. Her leadership role in an organization dedicated to accreditation standards also will help to inform curriculum standards at WilmU.

The Council is committed to assuring the quality, consistency, and relevance of human service education through research-based standards and a peer-review, accreditation process. Dr. Bey has been serving CSHSE in various capacities since 2010. She became regional director in 2012; her responsibilities in that role included providing technical assistance to schools interested in applying for accreditation.
