Dan Caton began his career at Wilmington University this year as an Adjunct Professor. He currently teaches Cyber Security courses within the College of Technology. Dan holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science from DeSales University, a Masters in Applied Technology from Wilmington College, and a Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
Currently, Dan works as the North America Network Operations Manager for Farmers-Zurich Insurance, where he designs, develops, installs, and manages all aspects of the Farmers-Zurich Insurance; secure data and voice networks, to accomplish business goals and corporate initiatives.
Dan also served in Command Leadership and technical roles in the US Army and the Delaware Army National Guard as a Signal Officer for over 28 years, most recently as the Director of Information Management. In that role he was responsible for providing secure, reliable, responsive communications and information services to allow Delaware Army and Air National Guard to plan, train, deploy, execute, and sustain the full spectrum of contingency, combat, and Cyber defense operations.
In the past Dan has also worked to convert legacy Mainframe communications environments in the aerospace industry (Boeing) and the merchant services environment (First Data Corporation).
In his spare time, Dan enjoys watching his youngest son play college football for Washington and Lee University, visiting his other son at Notre Dame during football weekends, sailing, and skiing.
